3 August-- Left Baltimore
14 September-- Arrived off Gibraltar
7 October-- Arrived off Tripoli with the USS Philadelphia

18 July-- Closed on Tripolitan Coast with USS Argus, Constitution, Syren, Nautilus, Enterprise, and Scourge. Later in August, the USS John Adams and Intrepid joined. Multiple bombardments of Tripoli were initiated in the following weeks.
September to November-- Syracuse, Tripoli, Malta, Syracuse and Messina.
7 November-- Arrived at Port of Syracuse. USS Essex, John Adams, Argus, Constitution and Congress were there as well.

Oliver Hazard Perry and the USS Revenge Sinking-- Part 1

Oliver Hazard Perry was appointed a midshipman in 1799. In the First Barbary War, he served on the USS Adams and later became a first lieutenant and second in command of the USS Nautilus.
He then served under Captain John Rodgers on the USS Constitution and then on the USS Essex.
After that, he was placed in charge of the construction of gunboats in Newport and Westerly, Connecticut.
In April 1809, he commanded the sloop USS Revenge and did patrol duties off New England to enforce the Embargo Act. He also led a successful raid which resulted in the recapture of an American ship held in Spanish Territory in Florida.

Officer U.S. Navy in Quasi-War, First Barbary War and War of 1812. he was acting captain of the USS Constitution during the attacks on Tripoli in 1804. Born in Maryland, the son of Congressman and Revolutionary War officer George Dent.
Appointed Midshipman 16 March 1794.Served on the USS Constellation when it captured the French frigate Insurgente in 1799. Then served on the USS Constitution in the Mediterranean and later commanded the schooners Nautilus and Scourge during the First Barbary War.
