GENERAL JOHN WOOD
1787-1845
Buried at Texas State Cemetery.
Born Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
During the War of 1812, he was a lieutenant-colonel in Claiborn's Regiment of Mississippi Militia.
He was also a veteran of the Texas Revolution.
Died in Austin, Travis County.
The Augustus Jones chapter of the U.S. Daughters of 1812 placed a marker on his grave.
Note: There is no evidence that he is buried there.
